Experimental Study on Performance of Cement Stabilized Macadam Modified with Composite Agent

In this paper, three composite agents (i.e. emulsified asphalt, EA; styrene butadiene rubber, SBR; rubber powder, RP) were employed to modify the cement stabilized macadam (CSM) for optimal design of semi-rigid base materials. The feasibility utilizing EA/SBR/RP composites in is investigated from perspectives modification mechanism and durability performance. To investigate effects different modifiers on macadam, unconfined compressive strength (UCS), indirect tensile (ITS), resilience modulus (CRM) modified samples with variations groups tested. Moreover, drying shrinkage test temperature tests are performed reveal effectiveness performance macadam. results show that UCS, ITS, CRM decrease increasing during 28 days. average coefficient (DSC) increases composites. Considering all above experimental results, recommended dosage agent 2% EA, 0.75% SBR, 0.6% RP.
